Amit Shah, the Union Minister of Home Affairs, represented the Government of India during the death ceremonies of business owners Ratan Tata. Ratan Tata’s body was held in the NCPA grounds at Nariman Point, Mumbai, so that visitors may pay their respects and honour to the benefactor.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that Mr Tata’s last rites will be done with full state honours. During this time, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all state government offices, and no entertainment or recreational programs will be held. The chief minister has declared state mourning on Thursday (October 10).
Ratan Tata, Tata Sons’ emeritus chairman and philanthropist, died on October 9. He was 86. He was brought to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital in severe condition, where he passed away. Several elected officials and industry managers expressed surprise and mourning upon RatanTata’s death.
